Commercial property management consists of managing the buildings used for business purposes. This includes taking care of the activities of office complexes, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and other places of commercial activity. These special kinds of investors buy a commercial property to start of with their business activities right away or they lease it out for long or short periods of time according to the requirement. The leasing is usually done through a realty broker. Commercial property should not be confused with industrial property. It assumes a place between the residential and industrial properties.

Properties are generally zoned to ensure better jurisdiction. When the business investor wants to build a new commercial structure at a specific place, the first thing that the jurisdiction of that zone will consider is, if the property really falls within a commercial area. If one is not aware of these rules one can take the expert advice of commercial property management teams to give an idea of the residential, commercial and industrial property zones. Otherwise they can refer to city maps that are specifically available for these purposes.
